Alongside teaching I had been Consulting editor for the financial newspaper on stock market for 12 years (1986-1998). I have also been contributing for the last three years weekly roundup (Teesri-Ankh) on stock markets for Bennett & Coleman for their Newspaper at “Navbharat Times” at Delhi. I have also been Founder- editor for Investor’s India – a magazine on fixed deposits, debt instruments and mutual funds for Bajaj Capital, New Delhi
The publication of the financial newspaper required the interaction with the management’s of most of the corporate through their interviews, press conferences and their plant visits all over the country helping me enrich my knowledge and exposure of varied industries.
Other engagements at present are closely watching the stock markets for providing practical insights to the students of management. Along with I have been providing investment consultancy to some high net worth investors.
I am also a director for the last 12 years for finance company Bajaj Leasing & Finance. I have also worked as a senior researcher at IIPA, New Delhi, in their project on profitability on public sector enterprises sponsored by SCOPE.

I did my M. Phil, Dissertation on the topic of ‘Usefulness of Financial Ratios for equity Shareholders’ for which I was awarded ‘A’ grade. I was awarded Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. L.S. Porwal, Delhi University and Prof. Kanti Swarup, IIPA; New Delhi entitled “Predictive Capability of Financial Ratios-’An Empirical study of Selected Indian Industrial Units’. The study involved an intensive investigation of 300 joint stock companies and their financial statements. Financial ratios of these companies were computed for the purpose of judging their efficiency in Predicting failure as well as rate of return on shareholders’ investment. It involved the application of stepwise linear regression and multiple discriminate analysis (MDA) along with other statistical techniques. The PhD. was awarded in 1983 and published thereafter.
I have been the formal joint guide for the PHD from DELHI SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, DELHI UNIVERSITY FOR THE IMPACT OF BUY BACK OF SHARES ON RATE OF RETURN. I HAVE BEEN THE FORMAL GUIDE FOR THE M PHIL WORK ON THE DEMATERIALISTION ON THE VOLUME OF SHARES. I HAVE BEEN GUIDING RESEARCH ON MERGERS AND ACQUISITION AND CORPORATE DISCLOSURES PRACTICES.
